Welcome Masham Church of England Primary School
We are delighted to share that Masham Church of England Primary School officially joined Yorkshire Causeway Schools Trust on 1 February. This is a fantastic milestone for the school, its community and for all of us across the Trust.
Masham brings with it a rich heritage, strong community links and a deeply rooted culture of inclusive, nurturing education. These values align beautifully with our shared mission to help every child flourish academically, personally and spiritually.
Strong Partnerships, Shared Purpose
The school’s journey to joining the Trust has involved close collaboration with its governing body, North Yorkshire Council, community leaders and the Diocese of Leeds. We’re pleased to confirm that all staff have transferred with the school, ensuring continuity, stability and a smooth transition for pupils and families.
Our Chief Executive, Jane Goodwin, shared her enthusiasm:
“We are delighted to welcome Masham Church of England Primary School into the Trust. The school embodies the values that matter to us, as a place where everyone is respected and valued and where we have ambition for children and staff alike. Having been part of the Governing Body for nearly a year, I have seen the great progress the school is making. The new sensory room has already made a real difference, and we’re excited to open the new library soon—placing the joy of reading firmly at the heart of school life.”
Chair of Trustees, Rachel Flower, added:
“This partnership demonstrates our continued commitment to welcoming schools that fit our ethos, whether small or large. We look forward to supporting Masham as a place where every child continues to flourish.”
What This Means for Masham – and for Our Trust Community
Masham’s staff and pupils will benefit from enhanced opportunities through their new Trust membership, including:
- celebrating and strengthening the school’s Christian distinctiveness
- access to Trust-wide networks, CPD and curriculum collaboration
- specialist support for SEND and inclusion
- new enrichment opportunities through shared events and activities
- secure financial and operational oversight to ensure longâterm sustainability
Headteacher Jane Wood reflected on this key moment:
“This marks an exciting new chapter for our school. Becoming part of Yorkshire Causeway Schools Trust allows us to continue raising standards while benefitting from additional expertise, collaboration and capacity. We are proud to join a Trust that shares our values and commitment to every child.”
Looking Ahead Together
A heartfelt thankâyou goes to the school’s leadership, staff, governors, local authority and Diocesan colleagues—and to the Masham community—for their support throughout this process.
Please join us in giving Masham CE Primary a warm Yorkshire Causeway welcome. We’re excited about the journey ahead and look forward to working closely as Masham continues to grow, thrive and offer inspiring opportunties for every child.
