Oatlands Infants win Silver Award!

We’re proud to announce that Oatlands Infant School has received a Silver Award in the School Garden category at the Harrogate in Bloom Awards 2025—a wonderful achievement following last year’s Bronze!

Judging took place in July, with the awards ceremony held in September, recognising schools and community groups across Harrogate for their contributions to green spaces and environmental education.

The garden renovation was generously funded by the Mukherjee Brothers Trust, who also supported the refurbishment of St Peter’s library. The project focused on wildlife and sustainability, and now features:

  • Bug-friendly planting
  • Hedgehog houses
  • A pond teeming with frogs
  • A bug hotel
  • Bird and bat boxes
  • Wildflower planting

This vibrant outdoor space not only enhances biodiversity but also provides a rich, hands-on learning environment for our pupils.

Congratulations to everyone involved in making this project a success!
