Inspired by Student Leadership in Action
Today, Trust Chief Executive Jane Goodwin and Chief Operating Officer Justin Waters were truly inspired by the outstanding students of Zawadi at St. Aidan’s Church of England High School.
At their AGM, the Zawadi team shared the impact of the student‑led events they have organised this year, raising funds for Artisan International and supporting families with disabled members in Peru, Ecuador and the UK. What stood out most was not just the fundraising success, but the ambition, compassion and professionalism shown by the students themselves.
Jane Goodwin described Zawadi as a “remarkable group of people”, highlighting the lasting memories they have created for students across the school and the meaningful difference they are making both locally and globally. She shared how proud she was to see Trust values so powerfully brought to life through student action and confirmed she would be reporting back to the Board of Trustees on their inspiring work.
For the Trust, this is a powerful example of our ambition for students and communities - young people developing leadership, project management and teamwork skills, while making a positive contribution beyond their own school.
Huge thanks and congratulations to the outgoing committee, a warm welcome to the new team, and our thanks to staff who have supported them along the way. We look forward to continuing to support Zawadi as they go from strength to strength.
